This is a prototype board that is being shown to see if there is interest in this exclusive item. We are the only company to produce an Ironwood chessboard. Because of the hardness of the wood, there are slight variables in the way the edges come together, but that again is the uniqueness of each board. For this board, we chose a "pecan stained hardwood border". Most other borders will be a bit smaller and can be produced with a border color of your choice. We will also be offering a larger square size (2 1/4") which will accomodate a full 4 inch king. For this set, we chose a beautiful Staunton Beige and Rosewood chesspiece set with a 3 1/2" king. No boards will be mass produced and each will be created in the USA on an individual basis. |
